One time payment QR code tools compared
Seven tools let you pay once for a QR code instead of a monthly plan. They differ on three things that matter after printing: whether the destination can be changed, whether edits or scans are capped, and what happens if the company closes.
We run Permanent QR Codes, so we are one of the seven. We are not the cheapest, and the table says where. Every price below was read from the tool's own site on 11 October 2026. Prices change, so check the linked page before you pay.

Where each tool is genuinely good
- QRever is good if you want an editable code with unlimited edits and scans at a lower price than ours, and a written promise that paid codes keep working for at least 5 years after any shutdown.
- Graklink is the cheapest editable code in this list at $7.99, with unlimited scans.
- qrcodeonce is the cheapest way to print a code that will never change: $5 for one, down to $0.98 each in the 50-code pack.
- QRCD is good if you need many codes: one $69 payment covers unlimited codes, with scan tracking and device targeting.
- Permacodes sells an editable permanent code with tracking, which fits if you rarely change the destination, since edits are capped at 4 per rolling 30 days.
- PermanentQR points straight to your URL, so there is no redirect service to depend on. That suits a link you are certain will never change.
- Permanent QR Codes is good if you want no cap on edits or scans, written shutdown terms (90 days' notice and a static fallback) and bulk pricing that falls to $10 a code or less. Our guarantee page has the details.

Where we are dearer, and where we are not
- QRever, Graklink, qrcodeonce and QRCD cost less than our $49 for a single code or a small batch. QRever works out to about $19 a code, Graklink is $7.99, qrcodeonce is $0.98 to $5, and QRCD is $69 for unlimited codes.
- Permacodes ($59) and PermanentQR ($100) cost more than we do. Permacodes also caps edits at 4 per rolling 30 days, and PermanentQR sells a fixed link with no edits.
- What the $49 buys: an editable code with no edit cap and no scan cap, 90 days' notice if we ever close, and a static fallback that keeps your last destination working. At volume the price falls to $10 a code on our bulk pricing page.
- If you only need one code and will never change it, a static code from qrcodeonce can be the sensible pick.
Which one to pick
Printed once, never changes (a poster, a business card): a static code is enough. qrcodeonce is the cheapest here.
Printed once, link might change (packaging, a sign, a book): pick an editable code. Compare QRever, Graklink, QRCD and us on price, then check the shutdown terms.
Many codes (a product line, a chain of locations): work out the cost per code. QRCD's one payment covers unlimited codes, and our bulk ladder falls to $10 a code.
If you already have codes in print from another provider, read how to switch without reprinting. For the wider picture of one-time tools, see our comparison with promotional one-time tools.
Questions people ask
What is the cheapest one time payment QR code?
On the prices read on 11 October 2026, qrcodeonce is the cheapest per code ($0.98 each in the 50-code pack, $5 for a single), but its codes are static, so the destination cannot be changed after printing. The cheapest editable code in this list is Graklink at $7.99, followed by QRever at about $19 and Permanent QR Codes at $49.
Which one time payment QR codes can be edited after printing?
QRever, Graklink, QRCD, Permacodes and Permanent QR Codes sell editable (dynamic) codes. Permacodes caps changes at 4 per rolling 30 days. qrcodeonce and PermanentQR point straight to a fixed URL, so a changed destination means a new code.
Is PermanentQR the same company as Permanent QR Codes?
No. PermanentQR (permanentqr.com) sells one code for $100 delivered by email. Permanent QR Codes (permanentqrcodes.com) is a separate company with editable codes at $49 each. The names are close, so check the web address before you pay.
Why is Permanent QR Codes more expensive than some of these tools?
It is. QRever, Graklink, qrcodeonce and QRCD all cost less for a single code or a small batch. What the $49 buys is an editable code with no edit cap and no scan cap, a 90-day notice if the service ever closes, and a static fallback. If you only need one throwaway code, one of the cheaper tools can be the better fit.
What should I check before paying once for a QR code?
Four things: whether the code is static or editable, whether edits or scans are capped, what happens to your printed codes if the company shuts down, and whether the price is per code or for a bundle. A code you can never change is cheap until the first typo or URL change.
