Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy ("Policy") sets forth the general guidelines, standards, and acceptable and prohibited uses of the Permanent QR Codes platform, software APIs, and any related digital redirection services.
Prohibited Activities & Content Standards
To ensure system integrity, safety, and security across all permanent QR code deployments, you may not use our services to create QR codes that redirect to:
- Phishing or credential theft: Sites designed to deceive users into sharing passwords, payment card details, or personal information.
- Malware or exploit kits: Content that delivers viruses, Trojan horses, ransomware, spyware, or browser exploits.
- Illegal content: Sites offering illegal goods, services, or materials prohibited by applicable law (controlled substances, stolen property, counterfeit goods, etc.).
- Fraud or scams: Websites or services designed to defraud users or accept payments for non-existent goods/services.
- IP infringement: Destinations that distribute unauthorized copyrighted works, counterfeit goods, or infringe third-party trademarks.
- Spam or abuse: Mass-targeted phishing emails, SMS spam, or unsolicited promotional links designed to evade filters.
You are solely responsible for the legality and safety of your destination URL. We do not vet, monitor, or audit the sites you link to, except in response to abuse reports or legal notices.
Account Enforcement & Termination
We use automated scanning and manual review to identify violations. When we detect a potential violation:
- Standard Termination (30 days' notice): For most violations, we will email you at your registered account address with 30 days to remediate the destination or request a refund. This allows time to update your QR code or resolve disputes.
- Emergency Termination (no notice): For imminent threats (active phishing attacks, illegal activity, or legal mandates), we may suspend the code immediately without notice. Emergency cases include: phishing campaigns reported by third parties, malware distribution, payment fraud, or law enforcement requests.
- Legal Reporting: Severe violations involving clear illegal conduct will be reported to law enforcement authorities as required by law.
If your account is terminated for violations, refunds (if available) will be processed according to our Refund Policy.
Reporting Abuse & Policy Violations
If you discover any destination URL or active QR code hosted on our infrastructure that violates these guidelines, please report it to our trust and safety team immediately.
